This requirements details is to update you regarding the latest Privacy Policy Requirements enforced by the major app stores recently. If you need any support, please contact your support manager or email us at [email protected] .

Content of the Privacy Policy

  1. The Privacy Policy and Terms of Service must be in two separate documents in Simplified Chinese.
  2. There must be a fixed entry in your app for users to view these two documents. For example, you can put the entry on about page (or sidebar, or setting page).
  3. There must be a website link to your privacy policy to allow users review your privacy policy before installation. The content in the app and in the website must be exactly the same.
  4. The app’s name, the developer’s name, the developer’s registered address and the effective date should appear on the very top of these two documents.
  5. The Privacy Policy should clarify the partnership of our company, to prevent users, stores and regulatory agency from confusing the privacy subjects.

  6. The Privacy Policy should include the purpose, method, and scope of personal data collection and use by your app (including entrusted third parties or embedded third-party code and plug-ins).
  7. The personal data includes but not limited to personal name, email address, phone number, personal ID number, MAC address, AndroidID, device’s location, installed apps, call logs, SMS inbox etc.
  8. The Privacy Policy should include the purpose of requesting sensitive permissions.
  9. The privacy policy must include how a user can exercise their data subject rights such as withdrawing their consent and/or requests for data deletion, as well as an effective channel for user privacy issue feedback. If your app provides an account system, you need to allow users to delete their accounts and specify the time limit for account deletion in the privacy policy.

Obtaining User Consent

  1. Your app must have a pop-up message of the policies at the very first screen when a user first launches your app. The user must check a box or click a button to agree to these two documents and continue.
  2. Before obtained user consent to the policies, the app must not perform any actions, especially collect personal data such as the list of installed apps, MAC address, device identifiers (especially the AndroidID). We suggest initializing the third-party SDK after obtained user consent.
  3. Before requesting sensitive permissions, the app must have a pop-up message to inform the user of the purpose of requesting this permission and obtain the user's consent.
  4. If the app requests permissions while it is open but users reject such requests, the app shall not keep presenting pop-up windows to apply for permissions and prevent users from using the app.

Collection and Use

  1. Your app must process users’ data in a safe manner, by relying on, for instance, encryption technologies (such as HTTPS).
  2. Your app must not use sensitive personal data or any special category of data, such as call logs, SMS messages, biometric features, or health data, for service improvements, advertising, marketing, or other non-core service functions.
